It will be your responsibility to verify eligibility; most insurances do not need to be authorized for mental health counseling; you just need to make sure the therapist is covered on your insurance plan.

If your insurance company is not listed, don’t worry! Out-of-network insurance is also accepted.

Private pay client fees will be discussed prior to your first appointment.

Mona Mason, in accordance with Ohio Administrative Code Rule 4757-5-02 and the law, will protect the client-counselor relationship.

“Confidential information shall only be revealed to others when the clients or other persons legally authorized to give consent on behalf of the clients, have given their informed consent, except in those circumstances in which failure to do so would violate other laws or result in clear and present danger to the client or others. Unless specifically contraindicated by such situations, clients shall be informed and written consent shall be obtained before the confidential information is revealed.” (Ohio Administrative Code, Rule 4757-5-02, Section D, Subsection 1).

In addition, suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse is required by law to be reported to the appropriate authorities immediately. If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, police must be notified to inform the intended victim. If a client intends to harm himself or herself, Mona Mason will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, Mona will take further measures without their permission that are provided by law in order to ensure their safety.
